Overview
Contentful is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team in Chicago. You will partner with Account Executives to articulate the technical value of Contentful's Content Platform and guide customers through architecture, integration, and deployment decisions.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to qualify opportunities and develop technical strategies tailored to customer needs
- Lead technical discovery sessions and deliver compelling product demonstrations of Contentful's APIs, content model, and integration patterns
- Architect and articulate how Contentful can fit into customers' existing stacks, including architecture diagrams and data modeling
- Respond to RFPs and security questionnaires with accurate, clear technical information
- Partner with Solutions Engineers and Customer Success post-sale to ensure successful adoption and integration
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or a similar technical sales role in SaaS
- Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, data modeling, and API design
- Hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms (preferably Contentful) and modern content workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment patterns
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Familiarity with JAMstack, CDN, caching strategies, and security best practices
- Experience with analytics or integrations that extend Contentful into larger enterprise ecosystems
