About the role

Comet is seeking a Financial Controller to join our finance team. This remote role offers the opportunity to lead financial reporting, planning, and controls for a growing technology company.

Key responsibilities

Lead monthly close processes and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and internal controls.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and support SOX/internal control initiatives.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Coordinate audit activities and regulatory filings as needed.

Required qualifications

8+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably in tech or SaaS.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial planning & analysis, and internal controls.
Experience with ERP systems and financial data tooling.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
