Senior Manager, UX Design

About the role

Cobalt is seeking a Senior Manager, UX Design to lead a team of product UX designers and deliver user-centered experiences for our platform. You will drive UX strategy, mentor designers, and collaborate with product management, engineering, and research to shape features from concept to release. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a deep commitment to accessibility and usability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX designers to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Define and drive the UX strategy and design roadmap aligned with product goals.
• Own design system governance, component library, and design tokens.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and research to shape features from concept to release.
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and synthesize insights to inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Ensure accessibility and inclusive design practices across products.
• Define success metrics for UX outcomes and measure impact.

Requirements

• 7+ years of UX design, product design, or related field; 3+ years in people leadership or management.
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma) and experience with design systems and prototyping.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating impact on complex products and systems.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional, agile product teams.
• Solid understanding of usability, accessibility (WCAG), and interaction design principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
