Overview
Cobalt is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join its remote team focusing on the US East Coast. You will design, build, and deploy ML models that power our products and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end machine learning models and features.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to translate business problems into scalable ML solutions.
- Experiment with model architectures, features, and evaluation metrics; monitor and improve model performance in production.
- Develop data processing pipelines and feature engineering workflows; ensure data quality and reproducibility.
- Deploy models into production using CI/CD pipelines; monitor, log, and diagnose issues via MLOps practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on machine learning engineering or equivalent experience; track record shipping models to production (remote experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn); strong data manipulation with pandas/numpy.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work independently with a remote-first team.
- Familiarity with data privacy and reproducible ML practices; comfortable working within East Coast business hours.
