About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Data Ingestion (ClickPipes) to design, build, and operate data ingestion pipelines that reliably move data into ClickHouse. This remote-friendly role focuses on performance, reliability, and maintainability of data ingestion systems.

Your Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines for ClickPipes at scale.
Develop streaming and batch ingestion components with strong reliability, observability, and error handling.
Optimize throughput, latency, and resource usage across distributed systems.
Collaborate with data platform, SRE, and product teams to deliver features end-to-end.
Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Write comprehensive tests and participate in CI/CD processes.
Document interfaces, data schemas, and operation procedures.

What We Look For

Several years of backend software development experience.
Experience with data ingestion, data pipelines, and distributed systems.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Location

Canada (remote) - remote-friendly role. We welcome candidates who can work from Canada or remote teams depending on needs.
