About the Team

The Engineering team at Clari is an Agile shop that practices Scrum across all of our teams. We layer in coordination practices such as Big Room Planning to stay aligned to Clari’s KPIs quarterly across sites and teams. About the Role

We’re looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead automation strategy and quality initiatives for one of Clari’s key product domains. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we validate, measure, and ensure quality across new and existing product capabilities — from APIs to enterprise-scale web applications.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise in test automation and systems engineering with a passion for driving quality across the entire development lifecycle. You’ll collaborate closely with product, backend, frontend, and platform teams to create reliable, maintainable, and high-performing test frameworks that help us deliver excellence at scale.

This is a fully remote opportunity and can be worked from any location in Poland. Candidates must be based in Poland and be able to travel to the office in Kraków as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable automated test suites across the SDLC
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to define effective test strategies that balance speed and coverage
  • Architect and evolve automation frameworks and tools that improve test reliability, scalability, and observability
  • Integrate automated tests seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, safer releases
  • Evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks, and develop tooling to enhance efficiency and quality metrics
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve overall engineering and testing practices
  • Mentor and support engineers across teams in automation best practices and quality-first principles
  • Continuously drive improvements to test automation strategy, coverage, and efficiency
  • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend automation testing, with a track record of building and scaling automation frameworks
  • Expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end test frameworks from scratch
  • Strong experience testing REST APIs, backend services, and data pipelines (including big data validation using complex queries)
  • Hands-on experience with modern testing tools such as Playwright, RestAssured, TestNG, and JUnit
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and strong understanding of SDLC and DevOps workflows
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, identify risk areas, and propose scalable test solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring and guiding teams
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS), databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and programming in Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript
  • Experience in CRM, enterprise SaaS, or large-scale data systems is preferred
