Role Overview
Checkr is seeking a Director, National Sales Manager for the Mortgage vertical. This on-site role in San Francisco will lead the nationwide sales strategy, build and manage a high-performing team, and establish strategic partnerships with banks, lenders, and mortgage originators. You will own the pipeline, forecast revenue, and work cross-functionally to tailor Checkr’s background screening offerings for the mortgage industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and scale the national mortgage sales team; set quotas, incentives, and performance metrics.
- Develop and execute the mortgage vertical go-to-market strategy; identify target segments and key accounts.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers at banks, lenders, and mortgage brokers; expand Checkr's footprint.
- Own pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and revenue attainment for the mortgage vertical.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Compliance, and Customer Success to ensure successful deployment and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Checkr at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to mortgage background checks.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on performance and strategy.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of national B2B software sales experience; 5+ years selling to mortgage industry or financial services.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding quota and leading high-growth teams.
- Deep understanding of mortgage lending workflows, compliance considerations, and risk management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills; ability to influence C-level executives.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions to enterprise customers; familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
- Willingness to travel as needed (typical range 25-50%).
