About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about tackling climate challenges and driving sustainability solutions? As a Building Performance Standards Associate in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful building energy efficiency initiatives with AESC. This is a remote position.  If you live in Oregon, you will have the opportunity to participate in on-site data collection and implementation.

In this role, the fellows will support work with buildings to save energy and determine compliance pathways for the new Oregon Building Performance Standards, as well as deliver Oregon Energy Trust programming to building management at various locations throughout the state of Oregon.

About Our Partner: AESC

Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, Inc. (AESC) is an energy consultancy that delivers solutions in energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed energy resources, and custom software implementation.  AESC is currently working to support Energy Trust of Oregon to implement the new Oregon Building Performance Standards, which will be the primary focus area of this Fellowship.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry and maintain organized data records.
  • Manage and update internal databases and spreadsheets for ongoing projects.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and attend meetings with building management teams.
  • Conduct in-person energy audits and gather relevant building performance data.
  • Support the development and delivery of webinars, including content preparation and technical logistics.
  • Utilize ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to track, benchmark, and report building energy performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Zoom or similar virtual meeting platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate professional experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to a fair workplace that honors the experiences, voices, viewpoints, and values of all individuals.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
  • May require occasional movement to accomplish tasks, including transitioning from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects weighing 25-50 pounds in all directions.
  • Oregon residents will have the opportunity to participate in on-site data collection and implementation, requiring access to reliable transportation. 

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to benchmark energy performance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including organizational and forward-thinking skills.
