Job Description

Senior Fund Accountant at Carta in Sandy, Utah. This role supports fund accounting operations for venture capital and private equity funds serviced by Carta. You will be responsible for month end close, GAAP financial statements, capital calls and distributions, investor reporting, and coordinating with external auditors. This position offers opportunities to impact process improvements and work with a leading fintech company.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly close for fund entities and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Prepare and review GAAP financial statements, capital calls, and distributions for venture capital and private equity funds
Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accuracy of fund level books
Prepare investor statements and maintain accurate capital accounts
Coordinate with external auditors and support tax packages
Improve processes and controls and document procedures including SOX related elements
Collaborate with cross functional teams including FP&A and fund operations and leverage Carta platform for fund accounting modules
Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field with CPA or equivalent preferred
5 plus years of fund accounting experience ideally in private equity or venture funds
Strong GAAP knowledge and partnership accounting experience
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Oracle and advanced Excel; familiarity with Carta is a plus
Excellent analytical communication and problem solving skills
