About the Job

We’reseekinga compassionate, experiencedPET/CT Technologist to join our team! You will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating heart and blood vessel conditions, using sophisticated imaging technologies toprovideessential insights that guide patient carein the imaging center.

Whatyou’lldo:

  • Works collaboratively with the entire CT team of physicians, managers, nurses, and technologists.

  • Performs cardiac CT imaging

  • Performs body CT imaging if needed

  • Performs CT examinations according toestablishedoperating clinical protocols and techniques to produce imagesifhigh quality.

  • Sets theappropriate scanningparameters on equipment such as milliamperage, exposure time, slice thickness, cradle increment, orientation, scan field of view,etc.

  • Provides CT images tophysiciansthrough use of PACS, and/or other specialized interpretation software and enters patients in Athena EMR.

  • Analyzes patient's medical records and interviews patient to obtain relevanthistoryas necessary.

  • Explains and properly positionspatientfor examination causing least discomfort or distress. If necessary,usesimmobilization apparatus tomaintainrequiredposition.

  • Performs daily quality control testing on CT system, ensures all equipment is adequatelymaintainedand in working order, performs preventative maintenance, and reports equipment failuresimmediatelyto supervisor.

  • Obtains IV access for administration of contrast media for CT enhancementin accordance withdepartment policy and physician order.

  • Practices infection control techniques and adheres to radiology safety guidelines.

  • Provides CT services promptly, efficiently, safely, and cost effectively.

  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and employees.

  • Educates the patient about the test.

  • Communicates with patients before the testregardingspecial instructions or scheduling issues.

  • Completesappropriate documentsasrequired(logbooks, worksheets, screening forms, etc.).

  • Enterspatient data andcompletesappropriate documentationdata into Athena EMR or other health information systems.

  • Scans for coronary calcium score, coronary CT angiography, TAVR, peripheral angiography,WATCHMAN, and other types of cardiovascular imaging.

What you’ll need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Computed Tomography

  • PET/CT experiencerequired.

  • Completed formalized CT course, as part of or in addition to formal education

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Computer Tomography [

    ARRT(CT)

    ]

  • 1-3 years of experience in performing Cardiac Computerized Tomography (CT), including Cardiac Computed Angiography of the heart and the coronary arteries

  • Cardiac stress testing experiencerequired.

  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Able tomaintaincontinuing education credits as required by certifying body or society

  • Strong preference for those with both cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology

  • Ability to correctlyidentifycardiac imaging protocol in discussion with cardiologists

  • Competent to perform and post-process advanced protocols such as: TAVR, Cardiac CTA, Gated Chest, Runoffs, Brain Perfusions,Lungand Heart Screenings,etc

This is arole starting at$50 an hour and will becommensuratewith experience.
