Carbon, Inc. is seeking a Total Rewards Manager to lead the design, governance, and execution of the company’s compensation and benefits programs. This role will partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to attract and retain top talent and ensure competitive, compliant total rewards practices.
Role Overview
The Total Rewards Manager will own the strategy, planning, and administration of all compensation, benefits, and equity programs. This is a hands-on, strategic position that requires strong data analytics, market benchmarking, and collaboration across functions.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain competitive compensation structures (base salary, incentives, bonuses) aligned with business goals.
- Develop and administer benefits programs, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
- Manage equity and long-term incentive programs, including communication to employees and governance with senior leadership.
- Conduct regular compensation benchmarking and market analysis; provide data-driven insights to leadership.
- Ensure compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (including California employment laws).
- Partner with HR, payroll, and finance to administer programs, ensure data accuracy, and support annual compensation planning cycles.
- Lead the annual compensation review, bonus processes, and equity grant administration.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, or benefits management (preferably in high-growth tech or manufacturing environments).
- Strong analytical skills with experience using HRIS systems and payroll data.
- Experience with equity/long-term incentive programs and executive compensation governance.
- Knowledge of California employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
