About the Job:

As a skilled backend developer, you will bring strong experience in .NET and C# to design, develop, and maintain API services and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of backend architecture, API development, and system integrations. With help from their team, the candidate will be able to quickly adapt to the specific needs of the utility industry, specifically relating to asset management and regulatory compliance. You will join a strong and inspiring team of technologists dedicated to creating high-quality software to deliver innovative solutions to challenging business and technical problems facing our clients.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and performant RESTful APIs for integration with internal and external systems.
• Implement business logic, data access layers, and background processing services using .NET Core / .NET 6+ and C
• Work with enterprise systems such as SCADA, GIS, Meter Data Management (MDM), and Customer Information Systems (CIS) to enable seamless data exchange
• Build services to process and store large volumes of operational and meter data efficiently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
• Ensure low latency and high reliability in backend processes to support mission-critical electric utility operations
• Implement secure coding practices, adhere to NERC CIP and other relevant industry regulations, and ensure compliance in all integrations
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests, ensuring robust code quality
• Work closely with front-end developers, solution architects, DevOps engineers
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for APIs, backend services, and integration points

What You’ll Bring with You:

• Strong experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+ and C#
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development
• Well-grounded in OOP methodology
• Experience with Entity Framework Core, LINQ, and SQL Server, and Oracle
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and multi-threading
• Passionate about solving business problems and investigating issues
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of authentication & authorization frameworks (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
