About the Role
BSA / Technical Writer – Insurance Technology
Location: Toronto (4 days per week in office) | Practice Area: Insurance | Type: Contract

The Role
We're looking for a BSA / Technical Writer to join our Insurance practice and support technology teams by crafting clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation for systems, applications, and operational processes. Acting as a liaison between technical experts and business stakeholders, you'll help demystify complex insurance and IT concepts through compelling, structured content that supports understanding and compliance.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain clear documentation for insurance technology platforms—including user guides, process flows, API specs, and technical documentation
Collaborate with analysts, developers, architects, and operations teams to gather information and validate documentation accuracy
Translate complex insurance and IT concepts into accessible content for both technical and business audiences
Create standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and training materials to support business continuity and onboarding
Ensure all documentation adheres to internal standards and external compliance and data privacy requirements
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience writing technical documentation in insurance, financial services, or tech environments
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, IT, English, or related field
Strong written communication skills with exceptional clarity, consistency, and attention to detail
Proficiency in documentation tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)
Understanding of software development lifecycles, IT systems, and insurance operations
