Overview

Canonical is seeking an experienced Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer for Silicon Enablement. Work with our global public cloud partners to deliver and maintain high-quality, high-performance Ubuntu kernels for the best possible open-source experience for our mutual customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cloud partners to enable silicon support for Ubuntu kernels.
  • Develop, debug, and optimize kernel code for silicon platforms.
  • Contribute to kernel features that improve performance and reliability in public cloud environments.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on testing, validation, and release processes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Linux kernel development and debugging.
  • Experience with silicon platform bring-up, driver development, and hardware interaction.
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu kernel release processes and open-source software.
  • Ability to collaborate with external partners and internal teams across time zones.

Bonus

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, virtualization, or silicon enablement projects.
