Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer - OpenStack to build a suite of open source Python-based charms to deploy and manage OpenStack and Ceph. This role is remote (Home Based) for candidates in the Americas. Your work will bring cloud platform technologies to a wide range of users and computing environments, from desktops to bare metal servers. As part of the Engineering team, you will contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of charm components and collaborate with open-source communities to improve deployment tooling for Canonical's cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain open source Python-based charms to deploy and manage OpenStack and Ceph
- Collaborate with engineering teams and open-source communities
- Contribute code, tests, and documentation
- Ensure reliability and performance of charm deployments
Qualifications
- Experience with Python programming
- Familiarity with OpenStack and Ceph
- Experience with Charm-based deployment tooling
- Strong problem-solving skills
