Overview
Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer - L3 Support to join our remote-first team. This mid-to-senior level role focuses on solving real-world problems at scale with cloud expertise and contributing upstream for open source technologies.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide Level 3 technical support for Canonical software products
- Troubleshoot, reproduce, and investigate complex customer issues
- Collaborate with Engineering and TechOps to diagnose root causes and implement fixes
- Contribute upstream to open source projects and upstream bug reports
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base entries
- Participate in incident response and post-mortems
- Mentor and support L1/L2 engineers
- Help optimize cloud-based deployments and tooling
Qualifications
- Strong cloud engineering experience
- Experience with Linux/open-source ecosystems
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work remotely in a global team
- Experience with customer-facing support is a plus
