Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure - Kafka at Canonical
Canonical is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Data Infrastructure team on Kafka-focused initiatives. This is a remote role with work from Europe, eligible to contribute from the EMEA region.
Overview
Deliver a world-leading data platform - from data lake and big data technology, through NoSQL to high performance SQL databases, using the latest capabilities of Kubernetes and Linux.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data infrastructure components with a focus on Kafka.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to build scalable data pipelines and platforms.
- Improve reliability, performance, and security of the data infrastructure.
- Participate in architecture discussions and drive best practices for data management.
Requirements
- Experience with distributed data systems, Kafka, data lake architectures, NoSQL and high-performance SQL databases.
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and Linux.
- Familiarity with data platform tooling and cloud environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
