Job description

Deliver a world-leading data platform - from data lake and big data technology, through NoSQL to high performance SQL databases, using Kubernetes and Linux.

Role overview

Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer - Data Infrastructure to help build and maintain a scalable data infrastructure that powers data science and analytics across the organization. This role is remote within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering to design, implement and operate data infrastructure components (data lake, NoSQL and SQL databases)
  • Develop and manage data pipelines and storage for high performance data access
  • Leverage Kubernetes and Linux to deploy and operate data services
  • Contribute to the evolution of Canonical's data platform and tooling

Requirements and skills

  • Experience building data platforms, data lakes, NoSQL and SQL databases
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes and Linux
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Remote work in Europe; Full-time role; Senior-level
