Canonical is seeking a Juju Software Engineer (Go) to help shape the future of distributed computing. This remote role supports the Juju team, building and maintaining Go-based services that power Canonical's open-source orchestration platform.

Canonical is the company behind Ubuntu. Juju is Canonical's model-driven orchestration system for deploying, managing and scaling software in the cloud and on-prem. This role is fully remote and worldwide.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Go services that power Juju
Develop distributed systems components with a focus on reliability and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features end-to-end
Write tests, perform code reviews, and contribute to the open-source Juju ecosystem
Participate in planning, design discussions, and documentation

Requirements

Strong experience with Go and modern Go tooling
Experience building and maintaining distributed systems
Familiarity with Linux, containers, and cloud platforms
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

Open-source contributions; experience with Juju or similar orchestration tools
Understanding of model-driven architectures

Work arrangement
