Job Description

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Ubuntu Server Distribution. This remote role leads a team delivering the flagship Ubuntu Server distribution, the most widely used Linux on cloud and metal.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on Ubuntu Server distribution.
Define roadmaps and priorities, balancing shipping velocity with reliability, security, and quality.
Collaborate with Product, Platform, QA, Documentation, and Support teams.
Hire, coach, and develop engineering talent; conduct performance reviews.
Represent Ubuntu Server in planning, external engagements, and partnerships.

Requirements

Proven experience as an engineering manager or senior engineering leader (open-source or enterprise).
Strong knowledge of Linux server environments, preferably Ubuntu, cloud, and on-premises.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work across time zones and remote teams.
