Role overview

We are seeking an Engineering Manager - Python and Kubernetes to lead a distributed engineering team focused on reinventing multi-cloud DevOps with model-driven operations and Python-based tooling. This remote-friendly role covers APAC and EMEA regions, guiding a team to deliver scalable, reliable software and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team across remote regions (APAC and EMEA).
  • Drive multi-cloud DevOps initiatives and model-driven operations.
  • Set technical direction, oversee project delivery, and ensure high-quality software.
  • Collaborate with product, platform, and security teams; mentor engineers; manage performance and career development.
  • Foster a remote-first culture and promote engineering best practices in software and DevOps.
  • Partner with stakeholders to align roadmaps with business goals and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading software or platform engineering teams.
  • Strong Python and Kubernetes experience.
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g., public clouds) and cloud-native tooling.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a distributed, remote environment.
  • Track record of delivering complex projects and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

  • Open-source contributions or experience within Canonical's ecosystem.
  • Prior experience with model-driven operations or Python-based tooling at scale.
