Engineering Manager - Ceph & Distributed Storage at Canonical. This remote role leads Canonical's Ceph and storage engineering team to build low-cost, high-scale storage solutions and to solve the world's data challenges.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Ceph & distributed storage engineering team
- Define the technical roadmap and architectural direction for Ceph-based storage initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, DevOps, product, and operations) to deliver scalable storage solutions
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate engineers; foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Oversee delivery of reliable, high-performance storage systems and ensure best practices in CI/CD and testing
Requirements
- Proven experience leading storage engineering teams, with a focus on distributed storage systems (Ceph experience is highly desirable)
- Strong background in Ceph and distributed storage architectures
- Deep knowledge of Linux, networking, and storage technologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to drive cross-functional collaboration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred
