Overview

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager - Build and Release Infrastructure to lead a team of Python developers building the distributed systems underpinning Canonical's platform for open source collaboration and build infrastructure.

This full-time remote role is based in the Europe region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Python developers building distributed systems underpinning Canonical's platform for open source collaboration and build infrastructure.
  • Define and drive the technical strategy for build and release infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of release pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor and grow engineers on the team.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in people management and leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong Python development background.
  • Experience with distributed systems and release engineering.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
