Cloud Engineering Manager

Overview

Canonical is seeking a Cloud Engineering Manager to lead a Python-oriented DevOps team that runs mission-critical private clouds for customers. This role will raise the bar globally on infrastructure-as-code in bare-metal environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Python-oriented DevOps team running mission-critical private clouds for customers.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code practices across bare-metal environments.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other stakeholders to design, implement, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and execute roadmaps for cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
• Mentor and manage team members and foster a high-performing DevOps culture.

Requirements

• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong Python and DevOps background with private cloud infrastructure experience.
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) and bare-metal deployments.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Education: Optional; experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
