Buildkite is seeking an experienced Head of Legal to lead the company's legal strategy and program across global teams. You will provide pragmatic counsel on contracts, privacy, data protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance, and partner with executive leadership to scale processes, policies, and partnerships.

What you'll do

Lead legal strategy, risk management, and governance for Buildkite across markets.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and vendor agreements.
Oversee privacy program and data protection across jurisdictions.
Protect Buildkite's intellectual property and manage corporate governance matters.
Provide pragmatic, business-minded legal advice to executives and cross-functional teams.
Build scalable legal processes and collaborate with teams worldwide.

What we're looking for

Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in technology, software, or scale-up environments.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the senior level.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment (on-site in Sydney).
