Head of FP&A (Fixed-Term)

Head of FP&A (Fixed-Term) at Buildkite: Lead financial planning and analysis for a 12-month fixed-term contract, partnering with senior leadership across product, engineering, and growth teams to steer data-driven decisions.

Role overview

In this role you will own budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and KPI reporting. You will supervise a small FP&A function and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategy into numbers.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
• Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards (Excel, SQL, BI).
• Partner with executives to provide strategic insights and decision support.
• Manage month-end close processes and variance analysis.
• Build metrics and reporting that drive growth and efficiency.
• Mentor a small FP&A team or coordinate with external resources.

Requirements

• Proven FP&A leadership experience in tech or SaaS.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel; SQL/BI experience a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
