THE COMPANY

At Builder Prime, we’re revolutionizing the home improvement industry by doing more than just building software—we're giving hardworking contractors their time and freedom back. Our all-in-one business management solution is the essential platform for companies at their "level-up" moment, seamlessly integrating CRM, estimating, production management, payments, and reporting. By replacing disjointed tools with a unified data and automation foundation, we empower businesses to operate more efficiently, win more jobs, and achieve their growth goals. We look for collaborative and community-oriented team members who bring initiative and curiosity to the challenge of solving problems for our customers.

In 2023, Builder Prime raised their Series A financing from Blueprint Equity and additional investors. We recently announced our Series B in September 2025, also financed by Blueprint Equity.

THE ROLE

This is a remote position open to candidates authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, who presently reside in the US. Travel will occasionally be required to the office in the greater Denver metro area. Additional travel may be required.

We're hiring our first Head of Finance to bring financial leadership in-house and build the foundation for scalable growth. This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial function from the ground up at a thriving SaaS company. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the Leadership Team, you will own FP&A, financial reporting, accounting oversight, treasury, investor relations, and build the foundation for our finance organization as we scale from Series B through the next phase of hypergrowth. Initially, you will be a team of one, supported by an outsourced accounting firm, with the opportunity to build and lead the finance team as the company expands.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Lead strategic finance and FP&A. Own financial planning, forecasting, and analysis including revenue modeling, unit economics, margin analysis, scenario planning, and long-range strategic planning to inform key business decisions.

  • Manage and track financial health. Monitor and report on KPIs, cash flow, runway, burn rate, and overall financial performance. Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide visibility into business drivers.

  • Own the operating model. Build and maintain detailed financial models, manage the annual budgeting process, update forecasts regularly, and report actuals against budget with insightful variance analysis.

  • Oversee accounting operations. Manage the outsourced accounting firm (currently fractional CFO, Controller, and Accountant), ensure timely monthly close processes, review financial statements, and provide guidance on technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, work with accounting firm on tax compliance and filing requirements.

  • Run day-to-day finance operations. Manage AP/AR, vendor payments, bank accounts, corporate cards, expense reimbursements, and equity administration. Work closely with People Operations on payroll, sales commissions, and bonuses.

  • Advise on pricing, packaging, and discounts. Partner with the GTM side of the business on standard, custom, and new product pricing parameters, deal approval workflows, and associated commission plans.

  • Optimize the finance tech stack. Leverage and optimize existing tools including Rippling, Maxio, Carta, and Quickbooks. Evaluate and implement new systems to support scaling operations and improve efficiency.

  • Support board reporting and investor relations. Partner with the CEO and VP of Operations on board meeting preparation, investor updates, fundraising materials, and due diligence processes.

  • Risk monitoring and management. Work with embedded payments partner to create risk management and monitoring procedures for all payments and fintech offerings.

  • Build for scale. Establish financial policies, internal controls, and processes that will support the company's growth trajectory. Prepare the organization for future audit readiness.

  • Roll up your sleeves. Thrive in a fast-moving, ever-changing startup environment where no task is too small and adaptability is essential to success.

THE MUST-HAVES

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience including time working at venture-backed SaaS startups

  • 3+ years in a leadership position managing finance or accounting teams

  • Strong background at high-growth SaaS or technology companies (experience scaling from startup to growth stage preferred)

  • Track record of building or transforming finance functions

  • Expertise in SaaS metrics, unit economics, and subscription business models

  • Business partner mentality—you view finance as a growth enabler, not a cost center

  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights

  • Experience influencing decision-making at the executive level

  • “Batteries included”: Resourceful and able to independently run work streams, and also willing to be scrappy and think of creative solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all types of people, influence stakeholders, and synthesize information quickly.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you will juggle many complex projects simultaneously.

THE NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Knowledge or experience in vertical SaaS in a blue collar industry (familiarity with our customer base)

  • Experience in investment banking or management consulting

  • Strong understanding of business management CRM software and its application in improving business processes.

  • CPA, CFA, or MBA

  • Prior experience transitioning from fractional/outsourced finance to internal function

THE BENEFITS

  • Medical, dental, vision plans with generous company contribution for employees

  • 401k plan with matching contributions, immediately vested

  • Access to Health Savings Account (HSA) for eligible plans

  • Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

  • Employer-paid Life and Short-Term Disability Insurance

  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Leave, and Volunteer Time Off)

COMPENSATION

This position will pay a base salary of $175,000 - $200,000, depending on experience and location, with an additional variable compensation element to be discussed in the interview process.
