Box is a leading provider of secure content management and collaboration solutions. We are seeking a Senior Staff Security Engineer, AI Security in Redwood City, CA to help design and scale secure AI platforms and features.

Role overview

In this leadership role, you will own security strategy for Box’s AI initiatives, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and drive risk reduction across cloud infrastructure, data processing, and machine learning systems. You will mentor engineers, set security standards, and influence product roadmaps to ensure robust protection against evolving threats.

Responsibilities

Lead security architecture and threat modeling for AI initiatives
Define and implement secure development practices for ML systems
Collaborate with platform and product teams to design secure features
Oversee incident response, vulnerability management and security testing
Mentor and grow security engineers on the AI security team
Influence security requirements in vendor assessments and data governance

Qualifications

8+ years of security engineering experience; 3+ years in AI/ML security
Expertise in cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure), IAM, encryption, and data protection
Strong knowledge of secure SDLC, threat modeling, and security testing
Experience building security programs for AI systems and ML pipelines
Excellent communication and leadership skills
BS in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred
