Machinist (Contract)

Overview

Boom Supersonic is seeking a skilled Machinist (Contract) to join our Denver, Colorado manufacturing team. In this contract role, you will manufacture high-precision components for next-generation aerospace programs, ensuring tight tolerances and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce components per blueprints
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work orders
• Select tooling, calculate offsets, and optimize machining cycles for efficiency
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and CMM as required
• Document process data and report nonconformities; maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot issues and improve processes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a machinist in a precision manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred
• Proficiency with CNC programming (G-code) and reading blueprints with GD&T
• Experience with milling and turning operations, tooling selection, and setup
• Strong attention to detail, quality-oriented, and safety conscious
• Ability to work onsite in Denver and meet production deadlines
