Job Title:Permitting & Project Coordinator- Construction (Remote)

About the Role:Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination?

We’re looking for a Permitting Coordinator to drive project approvals from design to construction. You’ll manage the permitting workflow for 145+ active construction and engineering projects, coordinating with municipal authorities, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely, accurate, and fully compliant approvals. This role is ideal for someone with experience in construction coordination, government approvals, documentation, and project management, who thrive on keeping projects moving efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Permit Management & Compliance

  • Manage the end-to-end permitting process for residential and outdoor construction projects.
  • Prepare and submit complete application packages including architectural/engineering plans, product approvals, surveys, and other required documentation.
  • Review plans for code and regulatory compliance prior to submission.
  • Track all permits from submission to approval, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaise directly with municipal authorities to resolve issues and expedite approvals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes, zoning laws, and permit requirements.

Project Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure smooth transition from design to construction.
  • Provide homeowners and internal teams with timely updates on permit status and next steps.
  • Act as a liaison between contractors, project teams, and government authorities.
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections, ensuring all documentation and jobsite information is accurate and complete.

Process & Systems Optimization

  • Organize and maintain a central repository of municipality requirements, checklists, and workflows.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the permit process and suggest improvements to speed up approvals.
  • Assist in standardizing documentation, templates, and SOPs to improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in permitting, construction, engineering, or project coordination.
  • Knowledge of Florida state municipal permitting processes or government approvals is a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, or construction plans.
  • Skilled in managing digital documents and online application systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.
  • Experience with JobTread or similar project management software is a plus.
