Fiber I&R Technician

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Installation & Repair (I&R) Technician to join our team. This role is focused entirely on fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, requiring hands-on expertise in both installation and repair. The ideal candidate will bring proven fiber I&R experience, technical knowledge, and the ability to provide top-notch service to residential customers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, ensuring proper setup, testing, and verification of services.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic lines to restore connectivity and maintain service quality.
• Handle fiber splicing, terminations, and testing using industry-standard tools and equipment.
• Maintain detailed service records, installation notes, and test results.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain installation procedures, usage, and maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Fiber Installation & Repair (I&R).
• Experience working on fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) projects.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be located in or willing to travel within Pennsylvania (PA) and New York (NY).

Preferred:

• Familiarity with ISP standards and residential fiber deployment.
• Customer-facing experience with a focus on service excellence.
• OSHA or related safety certifications (preferred but not required).
