Blockstream's finance team is seeking a results-driven SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to lead SEC filings and complex technical accounting initiatives for our California-based team. This role collaborates with Finance, Legal, and External Auditors to ensure US GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and accurate disclosures. Key responsibilities include overseeing quarterly and annual SEC reporting, performing technical accounting research on complex transactions (ASC 606, ASC 842, business combinations), maintaining internal controls documentation, and supporting the consolidation process. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting, excellent communication and project management skills, and experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-Q/10-K) and related disclosures.
• Conduct technical accounting research and apply US GAAP to complex transactions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain and test internal controls to support SOX compliance.
• Assist in the consolidation and financial reporting package.
• Lead a small team and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years in public accounting or corporate accounting with focus on SEC reporting and technical accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX controls.
• Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842; familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
