Overview
Block is seeking a Staff iOS Engineer to join its Food & Beverage Point of Sale team. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY.
About the Role
As a key member of the mobile team, you will design and build scalable iOS applications that power Block's Food & Beverage POS solutions. You will own components of the iOS stack, collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA, and help set technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality iOS apps using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
- Lead architecture decisions and code reviews
- Ensure performance, reliability, and robust offline support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship features on schedule
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to testing and release processes
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Swift and iOS development
- Proficiency with UIKit and SwiftUI, Xcode, and testing
- Experience with networking, data persistence, and offline-first apps
- Familiarity with payments or POS apps is a plus
Location & Schedule
Location: New York, NY, on-site. Employment type: Regular / full-time.
Compensation
Salary range: USD 263,000 – 395,000 per year (based on Zone A-D data).
