Software Engineer, Core Surfaces

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. The Core Surfaces team is responsible for providing a platform for all other product teams to present information in CashApp. We are responsible for finding the balance between enforcing a framework that makes the app comprehensible to our users, while giving individual product teams maximum flexibility in how they want to represent themselves in the app.

• Collaborate frequently with a wide number of teams to evolve commonly used frameworks and APIs
• Build a broad understanding of features offered throughout CashApp
• Be responsible for the data quality and uptime of one of the largest datasets at CashApp
• Share insights and feedback on code, design, and proposals, fostering a culture of growth and betterment

• 5+ years of experience building and operating quality software
• Demonstrated technical initiative in previous projects
• Strong communication skills and customer empathy
• High technical standards in software testing and delivery
• A growth mindset and a healthy comfort with ambiguity
• Bonus: Experience working in a distributed team
