You will plan and conduct studies, recruit participants, analyze results, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that shape product strategy and design. This role partners with product, design, data science, and engineering to elevate the customer experience in financial services.

Overview

As a senior member of the UX research team, you will drive research initiatives from discovery to execution for Block’s banking products. You will own research plans, synthesize findings into clear artifacts, and advocate for user-centered decisions across cross-functional teams. This position is open to remote candidates in North America with a location preference for the Bay Area, CA, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute user research studies (e.g., in-depth interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies) for banking features.
  • Recruit diverse participants, manage study logistics, and uphold ethical research practices.
  • Synthesize findings into actionable insights, personas, journey maps, and design recommendations.
  • Communicate results clearly to product, design, and engineering teams; influence product strategy and prioritization.
  • Build and maintain a scalable research repository and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to turn research into iterative, user-centered product improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX research experience, preferably in fintech/banking.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating impact on product design and strategy.
  • Expertise with mixed methods research (qualitative and quantitative) and a proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of privacy, accessibility, and regulatory considerations in financial services.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.

Location

Bay Area, CA, United States of America, with remote options. Remote candidates located in North America are welcome.
