Lead design of GraphQL platform features, incl. API gateway, schema tooling, and SDKs
Drive platform architecture decisions and scalable solutions across Block
Collaborate with product teams to deliver API capabilities and mentor engineers in GraphQL best practices
Identify and implement performance monitoring, optimization, and reliability improvements for GraphQL

🎯 Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience
Strong knowledge of TypeScript or Kotlin
Experience designing and building API platforms, developer tools, and SDKs
Experience driving technical decisions and mentoring engineers
Experience scaling and operating distributed systems with high traffic
Attention to detail and collaborative teamwork
Empathy and strong interpersonal skills
