Overview
Block is seeking a Legal Lead, Sales & Partnerships to lead the legal aspects of commercial partnerships, strategic alliances, and sales initiatives across regions. The role partners with cross-functional teams including sales, partnerships, product, finance, and compliance to structure and negotiate complex agreements and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and negotiate complex commercial agreements for strategic partnerships and sales channels.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, master agreements, channel agreements, and partnership documents.
- Manage the contract lifecycle from intake to execution and renewal.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations across domestic and international partnerships, including data privacy and fintech-related requirements.
- Collaborate with product, finance, legal, and business teams to scale partnerships while mitigating risk.
- Develop scalable templates and playbooks for standard partnership agreements and processes.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; US bar membership strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in corporate/commercial law, partnerships, or technology transactions.
- Proven experience negotiating high-value commercial agreements with vendors, customers, and strategic partners.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of fintech, payments, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
