Head of Systems and Analytics Oversight, Compliance

Job Overview

Block is seeking a strategic leader to oversee Systems and Analytics Oversight and Compliance. This executive role will guide data strategy, governance, and regulatory compliance across Block's systems and analytics programs, partnering with Legal, Security, Privacy, Engineering, and Product teams to safeguard data assets and ensure responsible data use.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks for data systems and analytics
• Drive regulatory compliance and risk management across data platforms, privacy, and security controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Security, Privacy, Engineering, Product) to align governance with business objectives
• Build and lead a high-performing analytics and governance team; establish clear goals and performance metrics
• Define and monitor data quality, privacy, and risk indicators; provide regular executive reporting
• Influence product and engineering roadmaps from a data governance perspective
• Champion ethical data use, data stewardship, and robust governance across the organization

Requirements

• Proven track record leading data governance and analytics oversight programs at scale
• Experience with regulatory compliance, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), and risk management
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with Legal, Security, Privacy, Engineering, and Product teams
• Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience building and guiding high-performing teams
• Strategic thinker with a track record of influencing roadmaps and business outcomes
• Fintech or technology industry experience highly preferred
