Overview

Block is seeking a Global Head of Technology Procurement to lead the global technology procurement function across the organization. This executive role will partner with engineering, security, product, and finance to drive cost savings, supplier risk management, and governance for software, cloud services, hardware, and related technology solutions.

What you will do

Set and execute the global technology procurement strategy
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing vendor relationship management for software, cloud services, hardware, and professional services
Build and lead a high-performing procurement organization; develop capability in category management and automation
Collaborate with engineering, security, product, and finance teams to align procurement with roadmaps and business goals
Drive total cost of ownership optimization, cost savings, and risk mitigation
Develop and maintain vendor risk management and compliance frameworks
Advocate for procurement systems and processes that enable data-driven decisions and automation

What we are looking for

12+ years of technology procurement or strategic sourcing experience; track record of leadership at the executive level
Proven ability to negotiate complex software and cloud contracts
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership
Deep knowledge of cloud pricing models (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS procurement
Experience with procurement tools and supplier management best practices

Remote role open to candidates in North America.

Salary ranges in our internal metadata indicate USD 189,000 to 283,600 per year across zones A-D.
