Block is seeking a Foundry Interface Engineer to join our hardware–software integration team. This remote-friendly, full‑time role focuses on building robust interfaces between Block's Foundry platform and hardware subsystems. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to design, implement, test, and maintain reliable interfaces, APIs, and data pipelines.

Role Overview

As a Foundry Interface Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of interfaces between Block’s Foundry technology and various hardware components. You will work cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration, performance, and reliability of system interfaces across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain hardware–software interfaces for the Foundry platform
• Develop robust APIs and data pipelines to enable seamless communication between components
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to troubleshoot and optimize interfaces
• Prototype new interface features and contribute to system-level design reviews
• Write clear documentation, tests, and diagnostic tools to support ongoing maintenance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in hardware–software interface development or embedded systems
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Strong debugging skills and familiarity with embedded platforms
• Experience with Linux and version control (Git)

Nice to Have

• Experience with APIs, data serialization, and communication protocols
• Background in hardware integration, sensors, or FPGA/firmware projects
• Exposure to CI/CD practices and test automation

Location and Work Model

Remote-friendly role, based in North America. Regular collaboration with teams across different time zones as needed.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 198,000 - 297,000 per year (Zone A).
