Dispute Investigation Policy Strategist at Block

Block is seeking a Dispute Investigation Policy Strategist to design, implement, and continuously improve dispute investigation policies for Block's products and services. This remote-friendly role collaborates with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Security, Product, and Operations to ensure policies meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

What you'll do

  • Develop, maintain, and improve policy documents, playbooks, and investigative processes for disputes and investigations
  • Lead investigations of complex disputes, identify root causes, and recommend remediation
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure policies align with regulatory and company risk tolerance
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to update policies and controls
  • Define metrics, dashboards, and reporting to measure effectiveness of investigations and policy adherence
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on policy requirements and investigation standards
  • Draft communications for executive leadership and, where appropriate, external stakeholders

Qualifications and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in policy, investigations, compliance, or risk management within fintech or financial services
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Product, Security, and Risk teams
  • Experience drafting policy documents, incident playbooks, and incident response procedures
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to payments, AML/KYC, and data privacy is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or professional certifications a plus

Location and work model

This is a remote-friendly role with preference for candidates in North America. The position is open to remote work and may require periodic travel as needed.

Benefits and compensation

Base compensation ranges from $180,000 to $270,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Block offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.
