Demand Generation Specialist (Performance Marketing)

Role overview

Block is seeking a results-driven Demand Generation Specialist (Performance Marketing) to join the Marketing & Communications team for the Square brand. This remote-friendly role is based in Tokyo, Japan. You will design and execute data-driven campaigns that drive pipeline and revenue, optimize paid media performance, and collaborate with product marketing and sales to accelerate the buyer journey.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and optimize demand generation programs across paid channels (search, social, display, and programmatic).
• Build attribution models, monitor ROAS and CAC, and manage budgets.
• Create conversion-optimized landing pages and creative assets; run A/B tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging and timelines; report performance to stakeholders.
• Stay current on industry trends, privacy requirements, and best practices in performance marketing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in demand generation or performance marketing; tech/fintech experience preferred.
• Proven track record driving pipeline and ROI through paid channels (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta).
• Experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo) and analytics tooling; SQL is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and ability to work independently in a global, fast-paced team.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; education is optional.

Compensation and benefits
