Custom ASIC Physical Design Engineer

Overview

Block is hiring a Custom ASIC Physical Design Engineer. This role is part of Block's Engineering team within the Centralized Block business unit. The engineer will contribute to the design and implementation of custom ASICs, focusing on physical design, place-and-route, timing closure, and power integrity. This is a regular full-time position with remote work options in North America.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical design activities for custom ASICs, including place-and-route, timing analysis, and sign-off coordination.
• Collaborate with RTL designers, verification teams, and EDA tool flows to meet performance and power targets.
• Contribute to DRC/DFM testing, physical constraints development, and power integrity studies.
• Work with cross-functional teams in Block's Centralized Block business unit.

Qualifications

• Strong background in ASIC physical design and semiconductors.
• Experience with place-and-route flows, timing closure, and EDA tools.
• Knowledge of silicon design processes and verification methods.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
