BitMEX is a leading cryptocurrency derivatives exchange known for high-performance trading systems and innovative financial products. We are seeking a Quantitative Developer to join our engineering team in Singapore.

Role Overview

As a Quantitative Developer, you will design and implement high-performance, low-latency trading infrastructure, collaborate closely with quantitative researchers to translate research into production-ready strategies, and optimize execution algorithms for speed, reliability, and scalability. You will also contribute to data pipelines, risk controls, and real-time market data processing in a fast-paced crypto trading environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain low-latency trading systems and execution algorithms
Collaborate with quant researchers to implement and optimize trading strategies
Profile, optimize, and harden critical code paths for performance and reliability
Build and maintain data pipelines, risk controls, and market data processing tooling
Participate in incident response, monitoring, and on-call rotations
Write clean, well-tested code and maintain clear API documentation
Work in a Linux-based environment and with distributed systems

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in finance/trading or high-frequency environments
Strong proficiency in C++ (C++14/17) and Python
Experience building low-latency, multi-threaded systems and networking knowledge
Linux development experience with performance profiling and optimization
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design
Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in Singapore

Nice to Have

Experience with crypto trading environments or market data handling
Familiarity with distributed systems, containers, and cloud infrastructure
