Vehicle Mechanic - San Jose, CA

Job Description

Bird is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to join our maintenance team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service Bird's fleet of electric vehicles, perform preventative maintenance, and support on-site operations to minimize downtime. You will use diagnostic tools, read schematics, document work orders, and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems on Bird's fleet.
• Perform routine maintenance and timely repairs to keep vehicles running smoothly.
• Read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with operations to minimize vehicle downtime and optimize fleet performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of vehicle repair experience; electric vehicle (EV) experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Valid driver's license; ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
