Role Overview

The Vehicle Mechanic will maintain and repair Bird's fleet in Culver City, CA to ensure safe, reliable transportation for customers. This on-site role requires hands-on mechanical skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently as part of a fast-paced field team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing on Bird’s fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using inspection tools and OEM guidelines.
• Repair or replace components and subsystems to restore vehicle operation.
• Document work performed and update maintenance records accurately.
• Participate in safety and quality checks and adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
• Coordinate with field operations regarding downtime and vehicle availability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a vehicle mechanic or maintenance technician, preferably with electric vehicles or automotive fleets.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, braking, and drive-train components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, repair procedures, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and safety-conscious mindset.
• Ability to work on-site in Culver City, CA and maintain a reliable schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EVs/electric drive systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental guidelines related to fleet maintenance.
