Bird is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of electric scooters and other micro-mobility devices in Ann Arbor, MI. This on-site role focuses on keeping Bird's fleet safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, replace parts, and support fleet readiness.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Bird's fleet vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using manuals and schematics
- Replace parts, inspect brakes and tires, test electrical systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and support inventory
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on mechanical experience
- Ability to read service manuals and schematics
- Knowledge of electrical systems and battery safety
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
