Operations Specialist - Driver - Penn State, PA

Overview

Bird is seeking an Operations Specialist - Driver for the Penn State, PA area. Based in State College, this role supports Bird's local driver operations, coordinating deliveries, ensuring route efficiency, safety, and timely pickups and drop-offs. You will work closely with our operations and logistics teams to optimize driver schedules, manage onboarding of new drivers, maintain driver files, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. This on-site role requires strong communication, problem solving, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily driver shipments and route schedules in the State College area.
• Monitor delivery routes and driver performance to optimize efficiency.
• Collaborate with fleet operations, safety, and customer support teams.
• Maintain driver files, certifications, and compliance records.
• Assist with driver onboarding, training, and performance feedback.
• Support escalation and issue resolution for delivery problems.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and company standards.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in logistics or transportation operations (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
• Problem-solving mindset, organization, and attention to detail.
• Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record (as required for on-site driver operations).
• Ability to work on-site in State College, Pennsylvania.
