Role overview
As the City Operations Manager for Phoenix, you will oversee all day to day operations to ensure safe, reliable, and high quality service delivery for Bird s fleet in the Phoenix area. You will partner with city authorities, vendors, and cross functional teams to optimize performance, maintain compliance, and drive operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Phoenix city operations, including fleet management, field operations, safety, and incident response.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with city partners, vendors, and service providers; manage service contracts and SLAs.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics; identify gaps and implement process improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies across operations.
- Hire, develop, and manage local operations staff and contractors; define staffing plans and training programs.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and community teams to align operational capabilities with growth plans.
- Lead emergency response and business continuity planning for the Phoenix operation.
- Prepare reporting for leadership and stakeholders; present insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of operations management experience, preferably in mobility, transportation, or field operations.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and contracts; strong negotiation and project management skills.
- Strong analytical with data driven decision making; proficiency with operations dashboards and tools.
- Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills; ability to influence without authority.
- Willingness to travel within the Phoenix area as needed.
