Role overview

As the City Operations Manager for Phoenix, you will oversee all day to day operations to ensure safe, reliable, and high quality service delivery for Bird s fleet in the Phoenix area. You will partner with city authorities, vendors, and cross functional teams to optimize performance, maintain compliance, and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Phoenix city operations, including fleet management, field operations, safety, and incident response.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with city partners, vendors, and service providers; manage service contracts and SLAs.
• Develop and monitor performance metrics; identify gaps and implement process improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies across operations.
• Hire, develop, and manage local operations staff and contractors; define staffing plans and training programs.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and community teams to align operational capabilities with growth plans.
• Lead emergency response and business continuity planning for the Phoenix operation.
• Prepare reporting for leadership and stakeholders; present insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations management experience, preferably in mobility, transportation, or field operations.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and contracts; strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Strong analytical with data driven decision making; proficiency with operations dashboards and tools.
• Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills; ability to influence without authority.
• Willingness to travel within the Phoenix area as needed.
