Role Overview

BigID is seeking a Senior Performance Tech Lead to drive the performance and scalability of our data security platform. You will lead performance engineering initiatives across services, profiling and optimizing critical paths, and mentoring engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable systems.

Responsibilities

Define and execute performance testing strategies, benchmarks, and capacity planning.
Profile, diagnose, and optimize bottlenecks in distributed systems and critical code paths (e.g., JVM-based services and/or Go components).
Collaborate with product, platform, and data teams to design scalable architectures and robust observability (metrics, tracing, logging).
Lead incident response related to performance issues and guide post-mortems with actionable improvements.
Mentor and coach engineers on performance best practices and ensure performance budgets are respected across releases.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in performance engineering, SRE, or related roles.
Strong proficiency with JVM and/or Go, paired with profiling and load testing tools.
Experience with distributed systems, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and SQL tuning.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
